Vikram next is Karikalan directed by Director L I Kannan. L I Kannan had handled Visual Effects in films like Endhiran, Anniyan, Eeram, Gajini to name a few. SS Murthy who has worked in films like Aval Peyar Thamizharasi, Konjam Veyyil Konjam Mazhai takes care of the art direction. Karikalan will be a movie with best animatronics, miniature, computer graphics, sources say. The movie is based on the life of the renowned and celebrated King Karikalan and hence it is named so. Harris Jayaraj is the music director for this movie. N Karthik of Yaradi Nee Mohini fame is handling the lenses while Mahesh of Bheema and Munthinam Parthene fame takes care of the editing department.
Karikalan will be a magnum opus produced by SS Vasan and Sa Parthi under SilverLine Factory Factory banner. The production house has produced the recent hit Singam Puli. Zarine Khan will be pairing with Vikram and the movie makes her tamil cinema debut as well. Pasupathy and Shanmugarajan will play prominent roles in the movie.
